One of you on PS5, one on PC
This is one of the most common mixed-platform setups, and the good news is it's well supported - PS5 and PC share crossplay in a lot of the biggest games. Every pick on this page has verified PS5-to-PC crossplay, confirmed against the developer's documentation and linked on each entry, so you won't buy a game and then discover you can't group up.
Our top pick is Helldivers 2- it's the definitive PS5-and-PC game, built from the ground up for four-player co-op, and its crossplay has covered both of those platforms since launch (Xbox joined in August 2025). Diablo IV adds cross-progression on top of crossplay, and Fortnite, Rocket League, Fall Guys, and Call of Duty round out the free-and-easy options. Overcooked covers the couch-party crowd with crossplay too.
If a third friend joins on Xbox or Switch, check whether your pick reaches them too - the Xbox + PS5 page and the main crossplay hub cover the wider combinations. For PS5-specific picks regardless of crossplay, see the PS5 hub.
One thing crossplay does not include is a shared purchase. If you were hoping that buying on PS5 also gets you the PC version, the answer - and the places where buying once genuinely does cover two platforms - is at PS5 and PC cross-buy explained.
One genre is missing from the picks below on purpose, because it needs its own page: MMORPGs. Most of the big ones are on both PS5 and PC and still keep the two populations on separate servers, so a PC player and a PS5 player cannot meet. MMORPGs with PC and PS5 crossplay lists the handful where they can, what each one costs to keep a group in, and which famous names to rule out before anyone buys.
